Introduction to Disney with Kass
Welcome to Disney with Kass!๐
Hi! I'm Kassandra, a former Walt Disney World cast member and Disney College Program Alum. If you're here, you probably have an interest - even if it is just a little - in all things Disney.
( My most recent trip to WDW - 2023 )A little background✨
I grew up in rural Oklahoma most of my life, but went back and forth between Oklahoma and Texas. I didn't go on my first Disney World trip until I was 19 years old, but when I got there I fell in love. From then on, I knew that I was destined to work for the parks at some point in my life. I'd plan trips with the help from my favorite blogger and youtuber, The Disney Food Blog, and fantasize about the day I'd finally allow myself to apply for the Disney College Program.
Then came the global pandemic. Participants were sent home early 2020, school was over zoom, and I was out of a job. My world came tumbling down quicker than I could rebuild it. I felt like I was out of options, but mostly out of time. I was a junior in college who had no internship experience and few opportunities for volunteer work. As the years went on, I found myself graduating from college with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I'll be honest, that wasn't something I planned nor wanted, but it happened.
Luckily, at that time the parks finally opened back up and my family and I were on our way to Florida to celebrate our graduation. At that time, Disney had just announced that the Disney College Program was going to be returning. I was so excited! When August came around I applied as soon as the application opened. I told myself this was the only time I could apply, so if I got in - great! And if I didn't, then it wasn't meant to be. Luckily for me, I was accepted into the program three days later (I can write about my experiences in a separate post).
My Why๐
Now I'm here, starting a blog to talk about all the things I know from doing research, going to the parks as a guest, and working there! I know there are still lots of people out there who are confused when it comes to going on a vacation to Disney. Trust me, Disney doesn't make it easy either. From reservations for the parks to lighting lanes for different rides - it can get tricky.
I'd also like to share things that I think are fun, cool, and educational. For example, tips and tricks when applying to your own college program, fun pin trading spots, and some of my own experiences that helped me to have the best time on my program and on my vacations.
